オレンジポレンタケーキ - Orange Polenta Cake - |
今日は久しぶりにガーデニング。肥料を撒いて家庭菜園の準備。
最高気温は11℃でしたが、お天気も良く今年初めて庭でビール♫
そして夜はクリスが、ポレンタでケーキを作りました。
ポレンタはイタリア料理で使われる、トウモロコシの粉。
最近良く行くカフェで初めて食べたこのお菓子。ポレンタ自体は、時々
料理で使いますが、ケーキは初挑戦。オレンジにカルダモンのスパイスが
アクセント、蜂蜜はしっとり感をアップ。やはりホームメードは美味しい♫
We spent the day in the garden for the first time this year.
We scattered 200 litres of manure to get ready to plant some
vegetables and feed our fruits. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed
a nice cold beer although the temperature was only 11℃!!
Chris baked a cake with polenta, which is Italian cornmeal. We first
had this cake at a cafe we often go and wanted to try baking it.
He sometimes cooks polenta for tea but this is the first time he's
used it for a dessert. As well as Oranges, Cardamon was used for
a flavour and honey was melted and then poured over the cooked
cake to finish it. The home-made cake was just lovely ♫

The above photo was taken this time two years ago. We use half
the right side of the garden for vegetables and fruits. We hope to
start to sow some seeds tomorrow. Have a lovely Sunday♫
