Bread #3 & Daffodil - |
This week's Chris' bread was fig and honey.
It's rather sweet and goes well with a strong cheese with some acidity.

These are daffodils Chris bought, while still buds,
they began to bloom very quickly. To my surprise,
none of the cats seem to be interested in the flower.
Normally they love to nibble and eat the leaves and flowers,
and when they don't, they just play with them.
So we normally need to be careful about where
we have flowers in the house, but not for this flower
as the cats leave them alone. How nice!!
The 4th of February, Risshun, is one of my cousins' birthday.
She now lives in Fukushima since her marriage last year.
She just told me daffodils came to be her favourite
after reading a story called
"The Fourth Day of the Month of Daffodils"
written by Kenji Miyazawa, a renowned Japanese poet and
children's author, born in the late 19th century.
There are several theories on which month is exactly
"the month of Daffodils". But whichever the month is,
I think Kenji Miyazawa is really romantic.
Don't you think so, you who is showing all his tummy?
Well, he's not listening.....
Thank you very much for visiting my blog.
I'm looking forward to seeing you here again soon.
Have a lovely day :)
